La
Rosiere is located in the heart of the Haute Tarentaise and is served by
140km of international skiing, due to being linked via ski lifts with La
Thuile in Italy. A controlled building program has ensured traditional
style resort giving a friendly family type atmosphere. The main resort
stands at 1850m and is south facing with a beautiful panoramic view of the
valley.
The
resort accommodates all ages, with an emphasis on families, there are
specially developed areas for children, with various activities to keep
them busy. To keep the rest of us busy there are 9 restaurants, 5 bars and
a pub/disco.
La
Rosiere has 37 lifts including 1 gondola 17 chairlifts and 19 drag lifts.
The highest point is 2,642m with an overall vertical drop of 1,508m, with
it's large
open slopes being perfect for beginners and intermediates.
There
are plenty of off piste routes, a snowpark and also the thrill of
heli-skiing (heli-skiing is banned in France, however due to the
link to La Thuille in Italy it is one of the very few resorts that can
offer this).
Other
Activities include snowshoeing, dog sledding, paragliding, airplane &
helicopter flights and also special events put on such as torchlight
descents, fireworks, concerts, theme nights and a cinema.
